Aşıklı Sultan is thought to have been a Turkish commander who was shot with an arrow and martyred during the siege of the castle during the Seljuk conquest of the city from Byzantium. He is popularly known as Yanık Evliya (Burnt Saint). There are five cists inside the tomb. Aşıklı Sultan’s cist is in the middle. It is thought that the tomb was built during the reign of Çobanoğulları and Candaroğlulları.
