The complex, which was built between 1512 and 1520 by the order of Yavuz Sultan Selim, is approximately 27 km from Kastamonu city center.

The complex consists of a mosque, kitchen, guesthouse and tomb. The tomb has a total of ten cists, seven inside and three in the front. The known names of the owners of the cists are Mahmud Efendi, the son of Benli Sultan, Sheikh Mehmed Şanî Efendi, Mehmed Efendi, master blacksmith and disciple of Benli Sultan and Halvetî Sheikh Mehmet Muhittin Efendi.
